Chinese calligraphy characters animate, as if painted by brushstrokes, onto floor of exhibit space filled with the art of Chinese emperors. The characters themselves represent the reviews bestowed by a historical emperor upon the art of his court (as part of the Forbidden City: Inside the Court of China's Emperors exhibit).

HD live-action video experience, depicting a day-in-the-life of Beijing’s Forbidden City. The installation is situated at the entrance to the exhibit, immersing visitors in the imperial era of China’s past. As viewers journey through the video they are brought deeper into the inner sanctums of the palace, culminating in a revealing glimpse of the throne room - the throne itself is on display in the exhibit space opposite the video (as part of the Forbidden City: Inside the Court of China's Emperors exhibit).
